Do you remember? You were SO excited when you joined your network marketing opportunity. You thought, “Man, all I have to do is get four, they get four, and then they get four. Ba da ba Boom – I am sitting pretty on a pile of money.”

Unfortunately, if you did get that first four, most likely they dropped off the face of the earth. They don’t answer your calls, much less recruit the second four to help catapult you to vast riches

What your sponsor did not tell you is that MLM network marketing is not for those looking to get-rich-quick or, frankly, for the faint of heart. To be successful, especially long-term, you need to obtain effective proven training, you need to consistently market, and you need to spend time and effort on both of those and more.

The MOST critical element to your eventual success is to make the decision that you will succeed in network marketing: no matter what it takes. That wholehearted decision will cause you to obtain the training and make the effort that is required

With that decision, you will become an entrepreneur. You will NOT quit on your dreams. When your initial attempts at success fail, you take action – massive action.

With that decision, you will take these steps:

Step 1). Get training and coaching. You wouldn’t start a job as a national recruiter without training. Even a new mail clerk needs to be trained. Network marketing is no different. You need to learn how to talk to a prospect, how to generate leads, how to help new team members be successful and meet their goals. Eventually, you need to learn to be a leader. Never stop training and doing personal development. All top producers in network marketing continually plug into training, coaching, and personal development.

Step 2) Market your opportunity. Do not wait to “graduate” from your training. While you train, put your business information in front as many eyes as possible in as many ways as possible. Do not forget to use the incredible power of the Internet to help recruit new prospects and leads. No one is going to join your fabulous opportunity if they never hear about it – and ideally the should hear about it from YOU.

Step 3) Action, action, action, and more action. Do steps one and two over and over and over. The power is in the numbers. It is a circle, connect with more and more people, as you are doing that focus on increasing your skills. The critical component is consistent action and training. Do not work hard for one month and then take a week or a month off. To create momentum in your network marketing business, you need to take focused and consistent action. You don’t necessary need to spend a lot of time, but whatever time you do spend on your business should be consistent.

Step 4) Develop into a leader. Connect with your business partners. Really connect. Do not simply process people into your opportunity so you can make your Visa payment. To be a leader you need to develop good long-term relationships with the people on your team. You need to care about them obtaining their goals as much, if not more, than you obtaining yours. It is their success that causes your own success.

How!?
This four step path to success starts with good training and marketing. You need to find someone who has what you want, who has been successful in network marketing and who has the proven ability to teach you to effectively market your opportunity. Do what it takes to get training and coaching from those individuals and systems to learn how best to market, recruit, and develop leadership skills.   Implement that training immediately and consistently.

Or you could decide to do nothing: to click on the TV and allow life to happen TO you, to NOT strive to get more out of life, to NOT work toward your dreams, to NOT take action. Most people who join network marketing do just that.

But I promise you, if you get great training and implement it on a consistent basis then in a one, two or three years you will be successful. The better the training, the more teachable you are, the more action you take, then the faster your success. It doesn’t matter how great (or not) your company or product or service are, if you don’t know marketing, if you don’t do personal development, you will NOT be successful. It is imperative that you EDUCATE yourself and ALWAYS be learning and growing.
